* intentionally made with the teflon material, which is much softer compared to most of the plastics used for fountain pen.
* softness and low coefficient of friction of teflon will reduce wear and tear on your pen to virtually zero, compared to pen rests made from other materials such as general plastics, wood, urushi, etc.
* absolute chemical resistance, hydrophobicity, UV resistance of teflon will prevent it from getting ink stained, UV degraded, etc. even if it gets stained with ink, it can be cleaned with harsh solvent (for example, acetone).
* be careful not to scratch it with your fingernail, because teflon is very soft.
